California Baked French Toast

Custard base

  • 8ea eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup crème fraiche
  • ¼ cup maple syrup

Whipped crème fraiche

  • 1 cup crème fraiche
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp simple syrup

 Caramel Sauce

  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt 

French toast – 12 servings

  • Serving dish: small rectangle staub cast iron 
  • 6 slices brioche ¾” cut, cut in half to make rectangles
  • Custard base
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite jam (we used Classic Blueberry)
