Jam for Origami Vinyl

Yesterday I was over at Origami Vinyl chatting up the boys. I was telling them about the "jam session" last Saturday and how everyone LOVED the Origami Vinyl's Blueberry Basil. We were discussing having an event at El Prado, which is a wine and cheese place in Echo Park, so I asked them what kind of jam they would want on cheese. Without missing a beat "PINEAPPLE JALAPENO!" Sean blurted out. Cherry Season is Here

Cherry Season is finally here! I have made many cherry batches this year and I get so excited when I see cherries everywhere I turn . While making this spicy, sweet and boozey jam, I kept thinking of my FAVORITE Derby Doll: Ms. CHERRYLICIOUS! I love roller derby and I'm surprised it took me this long to name a jam after some of my favorite jammers, captains and blockers. You can check it the best of L.A. Derby Dolls over on their radical tumblr. Cherrylicious is made with local organic cherries, Amaretto, apple, sugar & spices. Read about Derby Doll Cherrylicious here....

It was a packed house at Johnny Rebs and everyone got to taste all of our jams, ask questions and enjoy the afternoon together. It was a PERFECT mix of amazing...

Here's a photo of what happens when I go out of town! Apparently people cannot keep my jams on their shelf, which is making me a very happy lady.]]>

Cherry Chocolate

It is a little warm here in beautiful Echo Park, Los Angeles so I also decided to make ice cream. While in Paris I stopped by Angelina Cafe and bought some of their hot chocolate mix to bring home. It was a little hot today for coco, so, feeling nostalgic for Paris, I made ice cream out of the mix. I put a little of the spiced cherry preserves on the top and had the most AMAZING little treat. Chocolate & cherries are as heavenly in Los Angeles as they are in Paris. ]]>
