Laura Ann's Jams at Bloomfest

This Saturday is Bloomfest, The annual art, music, craft and food festival, from 2pm-10pm at 3rd Street and Traction Avenue in the Downtown Arts District. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to exhibit at Bloomfest because of the rock bands that will be performing right next to my booth. Fellow fan of jam and jams, my mom, will be joining me. Some of the bands performing at Bloomfest are LightFM (Josiah is from my 1st band Motorhome), Size Queen (AKA Betty Blowtorch), NO (Sean from NO created LAJ’s Blueberry Basil), Superhumanoids, Neighbourhood, Sukia, Mike Watt and the Missingmen, Downtown Devil...

With help from Fancifull Fine Food and Baskets, I donated an amazing basket for the raffle. The basket included my Greatest Hits Collection Blackberry Bay Leaf, Blueberry Basil, Raspberry Habanero and of course Hollywood Marmalade as wells as Limited Edition Fig Vanilla Bean. It just...

Jam for Origami Vinyl

Yesterday I was over at Origami Vinyl chatting up the boys.  I was telling them about the "jam session" last Saturday and how everyone LOVED the Origami Vinyl's Blueberry Basil.  We were discussing having an event at El Prado, which is a wine and cheese place in Echo Park, so I asked them what kind of jam they would want on cheese.  Without missing a beat "PINEAPPLE JALAPENO!"  Sean blurted out. I LOVE a good cooking challenge so today I planned to try it out.  Their idea sounded like a pizza topping so I thought I would also add some...

Cherry Season is Here

Cherry Season is finally here!  I have made many cherry batches this year and I get so excited when I see cherries everywhere I turn . While making this spicy, sweet and boozey jam, I kept thinking of my FAVORITE Derby Doll: Ms. CHERRYLICIOUS! I love roller derby and I'm surprised it took me this long to name a jam after some of my favorite jammers, captains and blockers.  You can check it the best of L.A. Derby Dolls over on their radical tumblr. Cherrylicious is made with local organic cherries, Amaretto, apple, sugar & spices. Read about Derby Doll Cherrylicious here....
