El-Hattan

  1.  Put the 1st 4 ingredients into a mixing glass, mix until the jam dissolves then add ice cubes.
  2. Stir well until chilled, strain into a chilled cocktail glass or serve on the rocks.
  3. Garnish with rye-soaked cherries.

This is my own version of a jammin' Manhattan, and it's one of the most popular drinks at my cocktail parties. It was named for the restaurant I created it for: El Cid in Silver Lake, CA.
