Laura Ann's Lavender and Jam Shortbread Bars

  1.  Heat over to 350ºF and grease a 9x13 pan with cooking spray.

  1.  In a bowl, mix together butter, sugar, flour, salt, and lavender until evenly crumbly.  Measure out 6 tablespoons for the topping and press the remainder of the dough onto the bottom of the pan.  Bake for 25 minutes.

  1.  Take pan out of the oven, top with jam and crumble the set aside dough over the top.  Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

  1.  Let cool completely before slicing into bars.  Store in an airtight container in the fridge and let come to room temperature before serving.
